This site exists in order to garner international cooperation to accelerate the inevitable re-legalization of Cannabis/Hemp for farmers and Responsible Adults.

The "GLOBAL Spring Planting" idea is somewhat related to the "4/20 Balloon" idea, in that we wish to see cannabis/hemp growing wherever it is possible for it to be grown...but the "Seed Balloon" concept is to release them to land where they may, and this isn't guaranteed to be in a place where they will be seen, or utilized.

We intend, with our "Spring Plantings" to specifically target areas which will be plainly visible, in order to get more national and international media coverage on the issue of cannabis re-legalization...and on a GLOBAL scale!

After spending a few years gaining knowledge about the true realities of cannabis' illegal status around the world, despite it's many beneficial uses, I have come to the conclusion that cannabis needs to be available for anyone who wishes to use it, be that for medical, industrial, food, recreational, religious, fuel or any other use.

In other words...Jack Herer was right all along!

More research needs to be done to determine the full range of positive uses for cannabis/hemp once it is re-legalized, and while I do not support the idea of underage use without proper medical advice and parental supervision, with full legalization for personal use by responsible adults, we will finally be able to wrest control from international criminal organizations and place it back into the hands of the people where it has always belonged and out of the world's schoolyards where it does not. We might even be able to get the proper scientific information that has been both deliberately withheld and stopped outright due to government ignorance and controls.

All that having been said, there is a strange method being used by all of the "individual groups" out there in the world who want to see cannabis/hemp re-legalized. They all want to do it on their own. Perhaps they want to take sole credit when the inevitable actually occurs? The fact is, in my opinion, a million tiny losses and a few tiny successes here or there still doesn't add up to a DECISIVE WIN.

This site's purpose is not only to plant the seeds of freedom in your mind--and on the main street of every town on the planet this spring--but to serve as a reference point...a general knowledgebase with links to all other sites with something concrete to offer. This is NOT meant to be a "you can see my site, but you can't see any other site" ego trip! Either we're ALL working towards a common goal, or we are being dishonest, either to ourselves, or to those who we "say" we're really trying to work with, to our mututal benefit.

EVERYONE and EVERY SITE has something to offer, however small or large that may be, but separately, most sites will never be seen by all those who are actually capable of making the needed changes in the world. THIS is the main goal of Overgrow The World!

I thank you for visiting the site, and I sincerely hope that we, the citizens of the world, can finally end the travesty of prohibition once and for all, and regain just this part of our freedom...the freedom to be left alone for not harming anyone and minding our own business!

First on the agenda...Marc Emery. Currently he is in the process of awaiting extradition to the USA from Canada for the horrendous crime of selling seeds in Canada, via mail order...which is not a crime in Canada. Unfortunately, the United States DEA has decided that Canadians not comitting crimes in Canada ARE comitting crimes in the USA--even if they've never sold a single seed in that country--and are trying to get him "imported" into their penal system.

The Canadian Government is playing "toady" to the US Government's request for extradition, even though it is widely known that no informed Canadian citizen wants to see Marc Emery extradited. If they won't charge him in Canada, why are they allowing him to be shipped to the US to rot in one of their prisons? Simple politics. Any way you slice it, Marc Emery is set to be a political prisoner of the United States Government, at the expense of both US and Canadian taxpayers. We've already lost 5 years of legitimate business taxes at about $50,000 a year, and the US citizens are about to assume a similar cost for another 5 years. $250,000 lost to Canadians already, and another $250,000 to follow, and the US gets to waste $250,000 of their citizens money on imprisoning him, even as the USA is quickly re-legalizing cannabis/hemp already.

It seems as though common sense, rational thought and the plain and obvious facts of the matter are completely lost when it comes to government actions these days... Oh well. Give them credit for consistency. (sigh.)

I support Marc Emery's freedom from extradition because of Canadian Soveriegnty, and the fact that Canadian and US extradition pacts are NOT being followed. If Marc Emery is allowed to be extradited to the US Prison system AGAINST EXISTING LAW for POLITICAL REASONS, we might just as well fold up Canada and hand over the rest at the same time.
